Question question And David, I mean, I just to follow up on that. Is there something that also needs to be said about how that kind of conversation could take place in a federal courtroom between Trump's judge and a federal judge? Trump could come out and not knock it down that he would have this kind of if he's back in the White House. And it doesn't have an item on the race in Iowa. I mean, I'm old enough to remember when something like this would have an impact. And it was about eight years ago Oh, well, you know, we've been up and down this hill now a lot in the last several ye eight years, I guess it is. And we'll survive. I think the one thing I take solace from is that we are we're a strong co We're strong people. And Fareed Zakaria did a terrific piece in the Council on Foreign Relations of Foreign here recently pointing out, you know, in the bottom line, the bottom line is America gets a lot of things wrong. But we have we are the strongest nation, the most respected nation on the ear And we shouldn't let that slip away from us, Georgia.
And David's optimism, you know, this feels like an electric heater out in the cold of Iowa right now But if Donald Trump and we talked about the other sc where you know, maybe things don't go so well for him in Iowa, Nikki Haley catches fire in New Hampsh We could also see in this New Ha this Des Moines Register the poll is coming out in about 45 m or now if it shows that Donald Trump's way out in front. Right. And he crushes the competition and goes on to crush the competition in New Hampshire This might effectively be Absolutely. And I've felt all along that it's highly likely that we will have the first major presidential nominee who is a convicted felon? I do believe that even all of this stuff is just disco by the MAGA base. And the MAGA base doesn't like to hear it. And when they hear it, they double down on him because they don't want to admit they're wrong.
There's a tremendous. And for a lot of other people, I mean, the point that we were j discussing with David was that people have gotten so used to it I mean, there's it's psychologists and social and political historians call it malignant normality. That we've just you know, We're so used to Donald Trump saying outrageous, anti-democrat you know, criminal things basically where he asserted the other day he was he was expressing on social justice just today, I think praise for a mob boss. I was going to show we write this up on screen. He thanked the notorious mobster Sammy the Bull for calling him a legitimate guy In a recent interview. Here's a clip from that segment. To try to press up on Trump. But you can never get to him. Yeah, because he had ex-FBI agents all around him all the time Everybody around him was an ex-FBI agent who would go up to your office get cuffed and we'll go back to prison. So forget about Trump. He's a legitimate guy.
