Today's Doodle celebrates  French artist Louis Joseph César Ducornet, a well-known painter in the 1800s who, because of limb abnormalities, painted only with his foot from birth. Google celebrates Louis Joseph  César Ducornet's 218th Birthday with a doodle and a short biography. let's learn more about who was Louis Joseph César Ducornet. Louis Joseph César Ducornet was a French painter who painted with his foot news. Ducornet arrived on January 10, 1806, in Lille France, France. 

Ducornet was born with a phocomelia, which causes malformations in one’s arms and legs. Ducornet didn’t have arms or a left leg, but his right foot had four toes.  Dubonnet’s father carried him around throughout his childhood since he couldn’t walk. Using his toes, he picked up a piece of charcoal. Ducornet began experimenting with sketches.  This started a lifelong passion for painting. After becoming a proficient illustrator, Ducornet attracted the attention of local schools and artists.

He was able to study under well-known painters in Paris because of training and pensions from the government. Early in his career, He concentrated on works with biblical inspiration, like Repentance (1828) and St. Louis enforcing Justice. To this day, the Lille Museum has both paintings. Due to his infirmity, Du Cornet was unable to receive any prizes from the Prix de Rome. A foundation for French scholarships. He did, however, win multiple honors from the esteemed Salon d'Art.

 He created a painting of Mary Magdalene in 1840, which the French government bought. He then created one of his most well-known pieces, a self-portrait in which he is shown painting with his foot.
