We are super excited. We were excited to get the endorsement of the conservative union leader. It's amazing to get the first six votes in the country. We are grateful for that. It's a good start to the day. I am blessed to have had two amazing friends with me along this ride, General Don Bolduc, who was with me literally from day one, and Governor Chris Sununu who has worked tirelessly alongside me. Two great friends. We worked in New Hampshire. We're excited to see what the day brings. Do you think you could notch votes? Right now, we will take whatever we can take. It was a good start. It gave us some good energy and momentum. We're not promising it's 350,000-0, but we are on track for that. Have a strong finish in the new a strong finish in New Hampshire. If you don't, will you move on to South Carolina? We're going to South Carolina. We are there. This has always been a marathon. It's never been a sprint. We wanted to be strong in Iowa. Stronger in New Hampshire. Stronger in South Carolina. We are running the tape. You saw the secretary of state's projections. Do you need more than that? Secretary of State expects historic voter turnout. Asking for additional information would be challenging given that. It's encouraging to see so many people saying, "I never voted before, but I'm coming out." That's not limited to what It's a positive indicator for New Hampshire that Nikki can succeed. Everyone wants to get engaged. This is the 56,000 vote like out in Iowa. How is campaigning in New Hampshire? It's interesting. How is campaigning in New Hampshire? It's interesting. It's colder in New Hampshire. I love the fact that granite staters wear their feelings on their sleeves. You know exactly what they expect. You know exactly where they stand. I love that. I like the blunt approach to that. New Hampshire and South Carolina, are very similar. You have to work on it. You have to fight for it. You have to earn every single vote. They want to see work. South Carolina is like that. I think that's why this was a natural state for me to campaign in. I have done it multiple times in South Carolina. I know what it takes. I'm grateful. They showed up to town halls. They asked questions. They were kind to me and my team. Good people here in New Hampshire. You have resisted defining what a strong showing looks like here. Why won't you define what it looks like? Former President Trump last night you will probably drop out today. What's your response? I have never done what he tells me to do. I think -- I have always said, we will know strong when the numbers come in. It's not a certain number. I don't say I have to have this number or that number. number or that number. What I have always had in my mind is, I want to be stronger than Iowa. Then, in South Carolina, I want to be stronger. Let's see what that looks like. Y'all will be talking about it. You can decide later whether that's strong or not. If Trump beats you by double digits in New Hampshire, do you think your campaign has a future? When we came in and started the day there were 14 candidates in this race, I didn't get here because of luck. I got here because I outworked and outsmarted all the rest of those fellows. I'm running against Dona G to talk about an obituary just because y'all think we have to talk about that. I will speak about saving this nation and running the tape. I'm a combatant. I do it because I love this country. We're going to go on fighting until the last poll closes. Then we are headed to my sweet state of South Carolina. We will make the case there as well. If I may, six weeks ago, none of you predicted Nikki Haley would be the only candidate standing. standing. She exceeded expectations and had a strong showing here. The sky is the limit. To go into her home state with that momentum, that's an amazing opportunity. Will you ramp up your attacks on Donald Trump? Do you think he is mentally fit to hold the presidency? I think he is mentally fit. The problem is, do you want two 80-year-olds running for president? Seriously. In the military, you have to retire at 65. You don't have surgeons doing surgery at 80. There are multiple things. It's just a fact that people start to decline.
When you have a country in disarray and a world ablaze The way we operate, you need a great performer who can dedicate eight years and go back and correct course. That's the main point of this. ensuring that we have the finest candidate and refusing to accept that two 80-year-olds are competing for president. 70% of Americans have said they don't want a Trump/biden rematch. Let's give them a choice. Give them options. This is about giving them a new generational leader that's going a generational leader that's going to secure our border, that's going to get our economy back on track, that's going to get back to the basics in education, and bring law and order back to our country. It's going to deal with wars around the world so America is safe and we prevent war from going forward. Do you think you have had to play on the defense because of Trump's attacks? No. To me, it's all about making my case to voters on the fact that, can you see it? Can you picture what this could be like? Can you imagine a country where we don't have the chaos,
where we don't have the negativity? Can you feel it? Can you say it? Do you want it? That's why this is always the case that we want Americans to know, they deserve better. Whether we have been talking with the general about what it takes to get the conservative voters to understand that, despite the hostility, we can fight just as hard and accomplish our goals. or whether it's with the governor who knows the state has a relationship with every voter and says, look, we know what you are feeling, and we know what it takes to relate to know what it takes to relate to you. That's why we have been in every diner, and every brewery to let them know, that we feel you, but we will make your life better. Nikki is going to unify. Donald Trump is a bridge burner. She's a bridge builder. That's a big thing. Focus on that. This is about unifying America. That's the big point. That is the primary distinction. The two sides of the same coin are Biden and Trump. Divulging, complaining, investigation. This is not good for America. Donald Trump has shown he is good at breaking things. You have to have somebody that can fix things. That's the situation we are in. We have a lot to fix. You are showing a message of unity. How do you -- They haven't voted here yet. It's not the party uniting around President Trump. It's the political elite uniting around President Trump. The political elite has never been with me my entire career. I have always fought I have always fought the political elite. That's why I want them to have term limits. I want them to have mental competency tests. I call them out on wasteful spending. If you can't give Americans a budget on time, you shouldn't get paid. I fight the political class. Donald Trump has the political class surrounding him. That's not what Americans want. We need a real person to get us out of the mess. You are wearing a homemade bracelet. Tell us about that. I have had so many little girls give me friendship bracelets. Wish you could see in my hotel the stacks of the bracelets. At the end of the day, that's what this is about. I have always said, that strong girls become strong women, strong women become strong leaders. To see the girls that came to town halls and their dads brought them because they wanted to see me. Then because of them, we earned their dad's support. their dad's support. It's something special. I want girls to know, how blessed are we to live in a country where you can grow up and be anything you want to be. The government does not get in the way. That's what I hope I take from it. It matters. I want -- I don't want my kids to live like this. I don't want anybody else's
